Not for skilled care provided by nursing and therapy. Skilled visits are for intermittent care, and are usually for approximately an hour. The goal of the visits is to help teach the patient and family to be independent in their care. Private duty aide care is available for longer periods of time. This type of custodial care is usually not covered by insurance, but is available on a private pay basis.

Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, Workers Compensation, Veterans Association all pay for homecare if certain criteria met. The care must be medically reasonable and necessary. It must be difficult for the patient to leave the home. It must be safe for the patient to receive the services at home. Ashtabula Regional Home Health also has some additional sources of funding to provide personal care and homemaking services when insurance coverage ends.

The state of Ohio does not have licensure for homecare. Ashtabula Regional Home Health is a Medicare/Medicaid certified homecare agency, as well as a certified PassPort Provider. All professional staff have current licensure. All home health aides are certified home care aides.
